Good morning, all! How do you deal with sun damaged skin?
First, you do what’s possible to avoid it by using preventative measures.
Second, if your skin already has been sun damaged, you let it heal and then stop expositing it.
Finally, if the damage is serious and you start noticing serious hyperpigmentation and skin lesions of all sorts, consult your health practitioner ASAP. They may prescribe you a course of Photodynamic Therapy (PDT; special kind of blue light) with a use of Aminolevulinic acid.
There is only one aminolevulinic acid based product available in the USA. It’s called Levulan Kerastick. It’s very expensive and difficult to source. There is a better choice in Europe where one can buy generic aminolevulinic acid compounded by privately owned pharmacies. I sell one of such products – aminolevulinic acid 5%. See it here.
Summer is almost here and with COVID slowly easing up on us, we all are looking forward to sunshine and warmth. One thing we should remember is that sunrays are not always friendly and that they could be dangerous and cause many unwanted health issues. One of them is precancerous condition called Actinic Keratosis.
So, I decided to write an article dedicated to Actinic Keratosis in hope that you would read it. First, because like all of you, I try to stay not only young and beautiful, but also healthy. Second, because most of health related articles are boring to read, and until we get diagnosed with some terrible sickness, we rarely take notice of warnings published online by medical experts. And last, because, believe it or not, but I do care about you, my dear customers.
So, I think I have done a pretty good job by trying to introduce the subject of Actinic Keratosis in a simple and readable manner. Please read it here. Hope you find it easy to digest.
By the way, very shortly I am going for a few days to South of France and after a long and cold winter I am truly looking forward to it. But the most important thing is I want to come back knowing that while there, I did all I could to protect my skin, my health, my own well-being and the well-being of my family. Because they won’t manage without me. Therefore, I must be careful and pay close attention to protecting myself from excessive sun exposure.
That’s all for today.
Wishing you all to stay healthy and happy! Take care of yourself and your family!
