INDICATIONS & BENEFITS OF TREATMENT WITH OBAGI NU-DERM SUNFADER
Prolonged sun exposure reduces the skin’s natural ability to regenerate, causing damaged and dysfunctional skin cells. The damage inflicted by the sun is often referred to by physicians as “Photodamage”.
OBAGI NU-DERM SUNFADER is formulated with 4% Hydroquinone to gently improve and correct uneven skin pigmentation, age spots, liver spots and freckles.
OBAGI NU-DERM SUNFADER is indicated to protect the skin from ultraviolet damage while inhibiting pigment cell production that causes dark patches. It is ideal for those of us who receive above average exposure from the sun on a daily basis.
OBAGI NU-DERM SUNFADER also reduces the incidence of other adverse effects of photodamage, including:
- Damaged pigment-producing skin cells, resulting in uneven melanin distribution and age spots;
- Collagen and elastin breakage, resulting in fine lines and wrinkles;
- Increased production of free radicals, causing cellular damage and heightened risk of developing serious illness.
OBAGI NU-DERM SUNFADER is a perfect partner for Obagi Nu-Derm Clear Rx and Obagi Nu-Derm Blender Rx.
OBAGI NU-DERM SUNFADER is formulated for all skin types.
OBAGI NU-DERM SUNFADER is PABA-free. PABA is an organic compound originally used in consumer sun screen. The chemical was removed from most sun screens after mounting research that PABA actually increases cellular exposure to UVB rays. Be careful when choosing sun screen: some sun screens may still contain PABA, and the chemical has been known to stain clothing and trigger allergic reactions in children.
ADMINISTRATION OF OBAGI NU-DERM SUNFADER
Before using, apply a small amount to an area of unbroken skin, and check the area within 24 hours for any serious side effects. If the test area is itching, red, puffy, or blistering, do not use this product. If there is just mild redness, then treatment with this product may begin.
Apply OBAGI NU-DERM SUNFADER to the affected areas of skin, usually twice daily or as directed by your doctor. If it is used incorrectly, unwanted skin lightening may occur. Avoid getting this product in your eyes or on the inside of your nose or mouth. If you do get it in those areas, flush with plenty of water.
OBAGI NU-DERM SUNFADER may make the treated areas of skin more sensitive to the sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure, tanning booths, and sunlamps, and wear protective clothing on the treated areas of skin when outdoors. This product contains a sunscreen, but it should not be used as a sunscreen for other skin that is not being treated for discoloration. Instead, apply a separate sunscreen of SPF 15 or greater to your normal skin.
