Remember, when you were young there was no need to support the skin or get much drag on the skin's surface while removing the make up? The tissues over the cheek bone were anchored to the bone by tight ligaments. As time goes by, the skin, underlying fat and bone all lose some structure. The weakening of cheek ligaments allows the cheek tissues to descend.
One effect of SCULPTRA is the new collagen formation which strengthen the structural ligaments in the cheek area, as well as restoring lost volume. Therefore, the rejuvenation effect with SCULPTRA is more dramatic than with traditional fillers.
SCULPTRA is a biocompatible and biodegradable injectable substance known as poly-L-lactic acid - synthetic polymer from the Alpha-Hydroxy-Acid family (AHA). It naturally stimulates your cells to produce their own collagen.
SCULPTRA is suitable for restoring the volume of depressed areas, particularly correcting such depressions as skin creases, wrinkles, folds, scars, and for minimizing the general signs of skin aging.
SCULPTRA is also suitable for large volume corrections of the signs of facial fat loss (lipoatrophy).
SCULPTRA is not an overnight miracle, but it can give great results over time. With a view to replace collagen that was lost during the aging process, a series of treatments over a few months is required. Usually the peak effect is at about 4 – 6 months after the injections. The result can last up to two years. After your initial session, you may need a touch up every couple of years, but you shouldn't need the same amount as in the beginning.
It doesn’t matter how long we spend in the gym. Most of us still want a more rounded, lifted bum and less cellulite on the legs. And now both of these can be improved with just injections:
Creating a Brazilian Butt Lift with SCULPTRA is an extremely easy procedure to get done. There is no liposuction required, no healing/soreness from fat harvest, no need to avoid sitting at all costs. It can be done in 20 minutes and is almost painless. Usually the procedure is done in a series of 3-4 treatments. To minimize bruising, it is recommended to use cannulas. Aproximately 4 vials are used per treatment. Long lasting improvements in lifting and fullness should be expected from SCULPTRA which appears gradually over several months.
SCULPTRA should not be used in a person who has hypersensitivity to any of the components of the product (each vial contains 150 mg Poly-L-lactic acid, 90 mg Sodium carboxymethylcellulose, 127.5 mg Mannitol). Do not use in the case of acute or chronic skin disease (infection or inflammation) near the area to be treated. Treatment should be deferred until the inflammation or infection has been controlled.
SCULPTRA’s side effects are generally injection-related symptoms at the site of injection, such as:
These effects, if they occur, usually last between two and six days. Other possible side effects include post-treatment nodules (bumps) due to overcorrection. Occasionally, the bumps are accompanied by discoloration or inflammation.
The risk of bumps is lessened by proper preparation, accurate placement of the injections, and regular massage of the treated areas. Most bumps break down within days or weeks. If the bumps persist, they may need laser treatment or cortisone injections.
Caution must be taken when injecting SCULPTRA in areas of thin skin, especially in the peri-orbital and the peri-oral areas. An increased risk of papules and nodules in the periorbital area has been reported. Refer to instructions for use for information regarding injection techniques.
