Before and After photos are often seen on the websites of plastic surgeons and medical spas, but rarely on the pages of online shops selling dermal fillers, mesotherapy products, botulinum toxins and other anti-aging treatments. So, with this blog post I’m launching a series of articles about the transformation of regular people, not celebrities, with the help of injectable treatments. Hopefully, these articles help those that have doubts about the capabilities of aesthetic medicine to get convinced in its power once and forever.
RESTYLANE, SURGIDERM, BOCOUTURE, RADIESSE
Restylane, Surgiderm, Bocouture and Radiesse are all well-known brands of injectable anti-aging treatments. They differ in substances they are made of and their mechanism of action. The best way to find out what exactly dermal fillers and botox are, how they work and how to use them in order to rejuvenate your skin and get rid of wrinkles, is to undergo the wrinkle treatment yourself. Naturally, if you prefer to read about them, see “before and after” photos, watch YouTube videos and learn from other people’s experiences, it’s entirely up to you. I, in my turn, prefer to try it all myself because this allows me to offer you and the rest of my customers a sober outlook and a constructive feedback. And that’s exactly what I’m going to do now: I will share with you my own insight into the wonderful world of aesthetic medicine based on the anti-aging program compiled for my most treasured person in this world – my mama. Her name is Natalia and she is 67 years young.
“What encouraged you to share such a personal experience?” – you might ask. The answer is simple: last Sunday the world celebrated Mother’s Day. It is one and only day of the year when we literally shower our mums with love and attention, expressing our gratitude for all the sacrifices they’ve done for us while understanding that every year that goes by takes us closer and close to the day when our mums will be no longer here. And that’s exactly what makes me, like any other loving child, wanting to preserve my mum’s health, beauty and youth for as long as possible. Luckily, I am in the right business for that: I have access to the most advanced anti-aging treatments such as dermal fillers, mesotherapy products, botulinum toxins, chemical peels, beauty devices, HGH injections. Therefore, when the time comes, I use the products, the knowledge and the power of persuasion to help my mummy stay beautiful and ageless. And that’s exactly what happened a couple of years ago: Restylane, Surgiderm, Bocouture and Radiesse – all these injectable treatments were used to rejuvenate her face.
Mama has always been that serious, responsible person who puts those she loves before herself. Actually, she often jokes saying she was born serious. But jokes aside, this serious attitude to life accompanied by the turbulent life’s events caused by the political instability of the country her and I were born in, started reflecting on her beautiful face a few years ago. And once, when I came home for a short holiday, I noticed that the face of my lovely mummy was covered in deep lines and wrinkles and the natural facial asymmetry that never used to be an issue became so much more noticeable. It was painful to see her looking like that.
As you may’ve understood, I live far away from her and don’t see her often. So, during that visit when I saw her aging face, I managed to convince her in the power of aesthetic medicine and came up with an anti-aging treatment plan to get her looking her usual beautiful self. Needless to say, it worked! And the proof is in her Before and After photos.
BEFORE AND AFTER
Before and After photos are shown below. One is “before”, the other one is “two months after” and the last one is a “nine months later” photo. I’m sure you can figure out which one is which. I had to post all of them because they prove that the words I often use when someone asks me about expected results – “cumulative”, “individual”, – are not meaningless words used for fobbing people off. They represent the reality: most aesthetic medical treatments really have cumulative effect and their effect really depends on the individual. Furthermore, they really give the best results not immediately after the procedure, but further down the line. Naturally, anti-aging treatments are complex treatments and there are other things that need to be considered to make sure you get the desired outocme. And these are:
These three should remain your best friends while you are waiting for the result to show up. “Easier said than done” – you might argue. And guess what?! I would agree.
Mama had Zero motivation at the beginning: being in your 60s and working full time makes it difficult to stay motivated for things that are not crucial for your well-being: you suffer from health issues such as high blood pressure, lack of energy, bad sleep. These and many other concerns are all signs of getting old. As for her appearance, mama started accepting the way she was looking, blaming for it the inevitable aging. Those who are acquainted with me even a little and even if only by reading my Facebook posts, know that I am a passionate anti-ager and I don’t agree with such attitude. Furthermore, I consider giving in to the old age a failure. Therefore, every single day for the first two weeks of her anti-aging treatment program, I would give her a powerful motivational speech.
Next thing we had to work on was the Commitment: after being diligent and responsible all your life, eventually comes the day when the word “commitment” doesn’t have quite the same power over you. So, once again, it was I who kept pushing her to stay committed to my anti-aging plan: weekly pep talks, sharing experiences of my customers, the ” before and after” photos; telling her about the most recent scientific findings – these and many other things, thankfully, kept her committed.
And Time? Well, time flies.
Anyway, what she had done was the following:
We began from a session of Jalupro amino acid concoction to re-densify and hydrate her skin on the face, neck and décolleté. The second session of Jalupro followed two weeks after the first.
A while ago I wrote an article “Amino Acids and Your Skin” where I explain in simple terms why it is important to feed our skin with amino acids. Take a look. It’s only one minute read and who knows, you may find out something you didn’t know before. If you don’t have that minute, then simply keep in mind that our skin needs amino acids because they are the key factors in the production of collagen and elastin, and they play an extremely important role in cell proliferation. They protect from the UV rays and reverse the effect of sun damage and smoking. Therefore, with a view to keep your skin in a good condition, it’s absolutely necessary to treat it with injectable amino acid cocktails twice per year.
Then we relaxed her glabella, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet with the help of botulinum toxin type A called Bocouture also known as Xeomin. Why out of all botulinum toxin products available on the market, such as Botox, Dysport, Neurobloc, Vistabex, Vistabel and others did I chose Bocouture manufactured by Merz? Because, in my humble opinion, it is the best botulinum toxin for those whose frontalis and corrugator muscles are not as strong as they used to be, i.e. it is the best botox for older people. Besides, Bocouture aka Xeomin gives lesser side effects thanks to the fact it’s highly purified.
Botox and botox injection are well covered in my previous articles, such as “Allergan Botox”, “Botox. All you need to know”, “Benefits Of Botox”, so if you want to know more about botulinum toxin, you are welcome to read them. They are long, but have a lot of useful info.
Once mum’s forehead muscles got relaxed, she had the forehead wrinkles filled in with hyaluronic acid dermal filler Surgiderm 24 XP. It comes in a very convenient dose: 2 syringes with 0.8 ml of hyaluronic acid each. Great amount for the initial use followed by a re-touch session.
Allergan is the manufacturer of Surgiderm. Not many know this. So, the quality of Surgiderm anti-wrinkle injections is very similar to the quality of Juvederm, but the price of Surgiderm represents a better value for money.
Then Restylane Lidocaine was used to correct mama’s lips contour and lips asymmetry while slightly enhancing them and turning their corners upwards. Actually, if you end up with some Restylane Lidocaine left over, it can be used for treatment of lip wrinkles.
Restylane cost for lip augmentation is reasonable, so if you are just starting using cosmetic fillers to enhance lips, I seriously recommend Restylane as a safe and proven option.
Finally, two syringes of Radiesse 1.5 ml were used to achieve the following:
- fill in her deep nasolabial folds;
- enhance her cheeks;
- correct facial contour.
Cheek filler Radiesse is not made from hyaluronic acid. Its main ingredient is Calcium Hydroxylapatite – a substance found in our bones and teeth. Apart from being a wrinkle filler that treats nasolabial folds and enhances cheeks, it also functions as a serious collagen stimulator. Injections of calcium hydroxylapatite are far more superior to hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers. And although they are more difficult to administer, they give truly great and long-lasting results. Moreover, hyaluronic acid injections provide immediate effect which wears off quite quickly while the results of a wrinkle filler Radiesse manifest themselves gradually and Radiesse continues to work for up to a year and longer.
Radiesse cost is higher than cost of dermal fillers made from hyaluronic acid, but I think it’s worth that extra expense.
Naturally, these treatments weren’t executed all at once. They were carried out during the six-weeks period and the final result became visible nine months later. The third photo is mama’s 65th Birthday and that’s where you can see the final outcome of my anti-aging treatment plan.
Now, is there still someone who needs convincing in the power of aesthetic medicine? 🙂
